MOVEMENT MULE
The addition of citrus fruits to this simple cocktail classic creates a refreshing drink that anyone would enjoy. Not a fan of grapefruit? No problem. Feel free to switch to another type of citrus fruit, such as blood orange or clementine.
What you’ll need:
½ oz fresh lime juice
½ oz fresh lemon juice
½ oz fresh grapefruit juice
½ oz orange liqueur (ex. Triple Sec or Grand Marnier)
1 ½ oz vodka
Ginger beer
Mint and grapefruit wedge for garnish
How-to:
- In a cocktail shaker or tall glass, combine lime juice, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, vodka, orange liqueur and a few mint leaves. Stir until combined.
- Fill your glass of choice – such as a copper mug or your new favorite Movement Tumbler – to the top with ice.
- Pour the liquor and citrus mixture over the ice until the glass is half-full (or half-empty, depending on how you look at it). Top with ginger beer.
- Garnish with mint and grapefruit wedge. Enjoy!
Tips from a bartender:
- Before adding to the glass, put the mint on the back of your hand and slap it with your other palm. This “wakes up” the minty flavor.
- Squeeze fresh lemons, limes and grapefruit for your juice. I promise you’ll taste the difference (store-bought has a much more acidic, less refreshing taste).
Substitutions:
For a non-alcoholic variation, replace the ginger beer with ginger ale, and omit the vodka.
